Comments | The creator of this imprint appears to be an agile, medium sized bird. Common in the area are blackbird (Turdus merula), pigeon (Columba livia), carrion crow (Corvus corone) and black-headed gull (Larus ridibundus). I checked the wingspans given in a popular bird book: the pigeon's is 32cm, the crow and gull are much larger and the blackbird is much smaller. |
Town pigeons seem to suffer infection in their feet, leading to loss of toes. This one seems to have one complete toe. coin diameter = 26mm | |
